Reese voted to TSWA All-State squad

Marshall County High School's Morgan Reese has been selected as a shortstop on the 2012 Tennessee Sports Writers Association All-State team.

Reese, who was the 2011-2012 District 12-AA MVP this season put up some huge offensive numbers, beginning with a .426 batting average.

Reese also had 22 walks, 7 doubles, 10 triples, 3 homeruns, 33 RBIs, 36 runs scored, 11 stolen bases, a .534 on base percentage, and a .782 slugging percentage.

On the mound for the Tigers, Reese posted a 4-1 record with a 3.28 ERA in 42 2/3 innings pitched.

In his senior season, the four-year MCHS letterman accumulated 44 strikeouts, while opponents batted just .217 against him.

Reese is expected to sign with Volunteer State Community College in Gallatin in the near future.

Reese, along with teammates J.B. Reese, Brandon Bush, and Aaron Thomason participated in the inaugural Middle Tennessee Senior All-Star Classic Saturday at Cumberland University's Stockton Field.
