Mazie Perryman, 87, of Chapel Hill, died Monday, July 30, 2012, in Chapel Hill.
Mrs. Perryman was born in Ogden, Utah, and was a daughter of the late LeRoy Floyd and Ivy Rosella Dykeman Myers. She served her country in the United States Army, Women's Army Corp. Mrs. Perryman was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse and also retired from the Marshall County School System where she was a bus driver for many years. She was a member of Holts Corner Baptist Church.
Mrs. Perryman was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie T. Perryman, who died in 2011.
Mrs. Perryman is survived by a daughter, Beckie (Paul) Rodgers of Chapel Hill; sons, Scotty (Betty) Perryman of Chapel Hill, Barry (Barbara) Perryman of Lincolnton, N.C., and Randy (Cindy) Perryman of Chapel Hill; eight grandchildren, including Cindy Lou Perryman, who was raised by Mr. Charlie and Mrs. Mazie; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, at Lawrence Funeral Home.
Family members will also receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, at Holts Corner Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. at the Church with Rev. Larry Chatman officiating. Burial will follow in Reed-Walker Cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be nephews, and Deacons of Holts Corner Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Chapel Hill Elementary School Library Fund, Forrest High School Athletic Department, or Holts Corner Baptist Church.
