Johnny Reed Walker, 69, of Maryville, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at his home.
He was retired from the 134th Air Refueling Wing of the Tennessee Air National Guard and was a veteran of the U. S. Army during the Vietnam era. He loved music and nature. He was preceded in death by his parents, John "Ned" and Lenis Derryberry Walker; sisters, Mary Frances Neill and Pat Taylor; and brother, James Walker.
Survivors include his wife, Kristi Walker of Maryville; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Sandra Tanner of Maryville; brother-in-law, Oscar Neill of Holly Springs, Miss.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kelly and Shantel Tanner of Maryville; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel, followed by a memorial service at 5:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ijams Nature Center, 2915 Island Home Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37920.
