Robert William Herbig, 74, of Cornersville, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia.
A native of Richmond, Va., he was the son of the late Elizabeth Johns Berrier Herbig and William B. Herbig. A member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Pulaski, He was a professional musician from the age of 15. He worked with the Charlie Daniels Band, played drums for Dottie West and Leroy Van Dyke, was a member of the musical comedy group The Corvairs, along with numerous other groups, and was a great singer and drummer. He also served his country in the United States Navy.
His parents preceded him in death.
Survivors include his loving wife, Kay Herbig of Cornersville; one daughter, Tammy Blankenship of Mandrum, S.C.; one son, Robert W. Herbig Jr. of Bon Aqua; five stepchildren, Kraig Tolliver of Glendale, Ariz., Kirk and Kent Tolliver of Flint, Mich., Kim Tolliver of Albuquerque, N.M., and John Kloian of Gilbert, Ariz.; one brother, John Herbig of Richmond, Va.; 17 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Herbig's body will be cremated and a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Pulaski at P.O. Box 456, Pulaski, TN 38478.
