A native of Marshall County, he was the son of the late, Sally Lou McGaugh and Buford Lee Doggett. He was retired from Inter City Products and was a member of the Columbia HAM radio club, served as president of The CB club, and was a member of the Volunteer Auxiliary Police.
His parents, a son, Roger Joe Doggett, and his wife, Peggy Jean Whitworth Doggett, preceded him in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Donna (Richard) Dickson of Lewisburg; three sisters, Mary Frances Harwell, Betty Ruth Ingram and Helen Cobbs; one brother, Glen Doggett; four grandchildren, Pamela Pauley, Angelia Doggett, Tabitha Doggett and Larhea Harber; two great-grandchildren, Brittany Pauley and Joshua Pauley; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Doggett will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, from the chapel of Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home with burial to follow in Lone Oak Cemetery. Rick Rolin and Corey Barnett will be officiating.
