Derk Kendall Newton, 56, of Dickson, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.
Derk was a native of Ravenna, Ohio. He was a diesel mechanic for the Neely-Coble Company in Nashville.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Joey Casamento.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Newton of Dickson; one son, Erik Newton of Dickson; two daughters, Tracy Norton and husband Mike of Dickson and Kristen Newton of Dickson; father, Jerry Newton of Sebring, Fla.; mother, Shirley Casamento of Kent, Ohio; one brother, Brad Newton of North Carolina; four sisters, Connie Sabo of Ravenna, Ohio, Lisa Klingensmith of Florida; and Michelle Bailey and Jane Ann Cunningham of Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, Michael Norton, Courtney Norton, and Keira Terranova; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Visitation will be conducted from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, from the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home, Dickson. Derk will be cremated and his cremains buried at a later time.
Services are under the direction of the Taylor Funeral Home.
