Thomas Turner Bass
Thomas Turner "Tom" Bass, 81, of Lewisburg, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at NHC Lewisburg.
Mr. Bass was a native of Hickman County, the son of the late Illa Mae Bates and Hubert Bass. He was formerly employed by TVA, and was a retired bus driver with the Marshall County schools for 30 years. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Farmington Church of Christ. He was also a member of the VFW Post 5109.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Dolly O-Quin and Mildred Morton, and two brothers, Charles and Edward Bass.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dottie M. Bass, one daughter, Connie Beatty, and one son, Steve Bass, all of Lewisburg. One sister, Lucille Shepard of Fairview; two brothers, Ed Bass and Jimmy Bass, both of Centerville; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, Sept. 26, from the chapel of London Funeral Home, followed by burial in Lone Oak Cemetery with military honors.
London Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
