Stabbing suspect sought

COLUMBIA - City police are looking for a man charged with the attempted first-degree murder of his wife on Wednesday night.

The suspect is Joddie Daniel White, 42, of Bradford Circle, Columbia Police said Thursday morning. Shortly after 7 p.m., officers went to their residence.

The wife, Karen White, had an apparent stab wound to her chest, police said. It was determined that the couple had been in an altercation and Joddie stabbed Karen and fled.

She was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville where she underwent surgery and remains in stable condition, police said.

Warrants for attempted first-degree murder have been obtained for Joddie Daniel White, police said. It's possible he may be going to Alabama, but no specific location was available.
