Stabbed wife recovering, husband's bond is $752,500

CLARKSVILLE - A Columbia man accused of stabbing his wife in the chest was arrested Friday in Montgomery County and charged with attempted murder.

Joddie Daniel White, 43, of Bradford Circle, Columbia, allegedly stabbed his wife, Karen White, 37, with a knife at their home on the evening of Oct. 3, Columbia Police report.

With help from Clarksville Police, city detectives in Columbia were able to track their suspect's mobile phone and apprehend Joddie White at about 2:30 p.m., less than two days after the crime, according to Columbia Police Detective Mike Richmond, as reported by The Columbia Daily Herald. Karen White was recovering at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, the newspaper said Sunday.

Joddie White's bond was set at $750,000 plus $2,500 cash bond for a child support debt, according to Maury County Jail records. His case was reset for a 1:30 p.m. hearing in Maury County General Sessions Court on Oct. 30.
