Robert Leon Fanning died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at NHC in Lewisburg, one day after his 89th birthday.
He was a member of Caney Spring Baptist Church and served his country in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946.
He is preceded in death by one brother, Wayne Fanning; and his sisters, Ruby Robinson and Lucille Hulsey.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Fronie Louise Certain Fanning; son, John Arthur (Susan) Fanning of Lyles, Tenn.; daughter, Pat (Tom) Kepple, Huntingdon, Pa.; brother, Clifford Fanning of Murfreesboro; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, in Woodlawn's Dignity Hall with Brother Stephen McCollum officiating.
Visitation Thursday from 11 a.m. until service time at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville.
