Emma Jean Holder Sanders, 79, of the North Fork Community of Bedford County, died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012.
Mrs. Sanders was born in Marshall County and was a daughter of the late Everette Houston and Ruby Emma Haynes Slaughter. She was a very active member of North Fork Baptist Church. Mrs. Sanders was a homemaker and was retired from Cosmolab, Inc. in Lewisburg. In addition, she was a licensed tax preparer operating her income tax service for 26 years.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Leland "Tom" Holder, who died in 1984, and by her second husband, Edd Sanders, who died in 2008. In addition, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Mayme Leverette.
Mrs. Sanders is survived by her sons, Danny (Sherry) Holder of Shelbyville and Travis (Tammy) Holder of Lewisburg; stepchildren, Judy Pruitt of the North Fork Community and Eddie W. (Joyce) Sanders of Shelbyville; sisters, Alice (Hoyte) Haskins of Chapel Hill and Ruth Moore of Unionville; three grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Oct. 28, from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Rob McKamey and Bro. Charles Saunders officiating. Burial followed in Hopper Cemetery near Chapel Hill.
Justin Holder, Murray Haskins, Gary Haskins, Roger Moore, Gene Molder and David Luna served as active pallbearers.
The Adult Ladies Sunday School Class at North Fork Baptist Church served as honorary pallbearers.
