Adam Carnes, 26, of the Caney Spring Community of Marshall County, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Mr. Carnes was born in Louisville, Ky. and was employed with Yates Company and was contracted to Nissan Inc., of Smyrna. He was a member of Grace Church in the Caney Spring Community. He loved sports and was a member of the 2002 basketball team which placed second in the NCHAA National Finals. Adam loved the outdoors and being with his friends. Adam believed and lived his life by his most famous saying, "Dream as if you'll live forever; live as if you'll die today."
He was preceded in death by grandparents, J. R. Jaggers, and Adam and Ruth Carnes; and great-aunt and great-uncle, Carolyn and Lane Jaggers.
Mr. Carnes is survived by his father and mother, Pastor Doug and Missy Carnes of the Caney Spring Community; sister, Krista Carnes, and nephew, Coleton Elrod, both of Chapel Hill; grandmother, Ruth Jaggers of Kentucky; aunts, Denise Myers, Rita Sue Rogers, Jani Cate, Robin Honaker, all of Kentucky; and uncles, Hardy Jaggers of Kentucky and Mike Carnes of Chapel Hill.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Mike Hatten, Pastor Gary Golden, and Pastor Richard Bradford officiating. Burial will follow in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill.
