Mrs. Adkins was a native of Easton, Pa., and daughter of the late Warren L. and Beatrice V. Skidmore Hess. She was a homemaker and member of Cornersville First Baptist Church and an active member of the Amazing Grace Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, William L. Adkins, and second husband, John F. Brumitt, and son, Danny Adkins.
She is survived by three daughters, Dottie Brunson of Gainesville, Fla., Beverly Sampedro (Nelson) of Cornersville, and Jeannie Worz (John) of St. Augustine, Fla.; three sons, Ken Adkins of Riverview, Fla., Tom Adkins of High Springs, Fla., and Larry Adkins (Mel) of Tiffin, Ohio; two sisters, Pauline Fredicks (Bill) of Phillipsburg, N.J. and Dotty Bullman (Jack) of Avon Park, Fla.; brother, Carl Hess (Alba) of Phillipsburg, N.J.; 15 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and special friends, Sunday Coton, Ronnie and Lisa Porter, and Emma Jean DeWolf.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Dec. 11, from the chapel of London Funeral Home.
Mrs. Adkins body was cremated following the service and her cremains will be buried in Tampa, Fla. at a later date.
London Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
