Walter Lee Brown

Walter Lee Brown, 64, of Murfreesboro, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at Alvin C. York Medical Center.

A native of Lewisburg, he was the son of the late Walter L. Brown Sr. and Frieda Hart Lane Thornton, and his stepfather, James "Chick" Thornton.

A member of the Church of Christ, he was a retired disabled veteran who had served in the Air Force.

He is survived by his son, David Lane Brown of Readyville; two sisters, Betty Sullivan and Patty Poe, both of Murfreesboro; nieces and nephews; and the mother of his son, Janice Simmons Brown of Woodbury.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, Dec. 18, at Evergreen Cemetery.

Woodbury Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
