Raymond Kearney Crick, 88, formerly of the Verona Community of Marshall County, died Thursday evening, Dec. 27, 2012, at the home of his son in Jacksonville, Fla.

Mr. Crick was born in Bedford County, and was a son of the late Edgar Wade and Emma Frances Lamb Crick. He was retired after 40 years of service from Genesco, Inc. of Lewisburg and was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Mr. Crick was preceded in death by sisters, Ruby Brown, M.E. Giles, Mary B. Cooper, Christine Boyd, Ethel Crick and Edith Crick, and by brothers, Fred Crick and Roy Crick.

Mr. Crick is survived by his wife of 66 years, Hilda Crick, formerly of the Verona Community; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Lori Crick of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandchildren, Jason (Maria) Crick of Grand Junction, Colo. and Jennifer (Chris) Kipphut of London, England; stepgrandson, Joe Hughes of Jacksonville, Fla.; great-grandson, Steven Crick of Grand Junction, Colo.; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted on Monday, Dec. 31, from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Giles officiating. Burial followed in Simpson Cemetery in the Rover Community of Bedford County.

Lawrence Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Chapel Hill, was in charge of arrangements.
