Graveside services for Nina Louise Shields, 66, of the Palmetto Community, were held Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, in the Booneville Cemetery in Lincoln County with Brother Harold Foster officiating.
Mrs. Shields passed on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her family.
There was no visitation.
A native of Marshall County, she was the daughter of Martha Louise Bogle and the late Kenneth Barrett Bogle. She worked at Genesco Shoe Factory until it closed, but her main job was working alongside her husband of 49 years, Ferrell Shields, on their cattle farm. She was not afraid of hard work, she never spoke badly about anyone, and she was the glue that held her family together. Mrs. Shields was a member of the Liberty Valley Church of Christ.
Survivors, in addition to her mother and husband, are her children, Tammy Richardson of Shelbyville, Kim (Scott) Pafford of Lewisburg, and Sonya (Scottie) Essary of Lewisburg; brother, Charles "Burr" Bogle of Sargent, Texas; five grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Doak-Howell Funeral Home served the family.
