Dorothy B. Collins, 91, of Lewisburg, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia.
A native of Marshall County, she was the daughter of the late Hettie Sanders Burgess and Archie Burgess. She was a retired school teacher for the Marshall County school system and a member of Westvue Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Aubrey Collins; a sister, Mildred Cook; and a brother, Bernard Burgess.
Survivors include one daughter, Andrea Greff of Smyrna; one brother, Tom Burgess of Cornersville; two sisters, Serena Wilkinson of Donaldson and Betty Tucker of Cornersville; one granddaughter, Kim (Pete) Powers of Bound Brook, N.J.; one great-grandson, Blake (Ali) Temple of Celebration, Fla.; and two great-granddaughters, Lauren Temple and Traci Powers of Bound Brook, N.J.
Graveside services for Mrs. Collins were conducted Monday, Jan. 21, at New Hope Cemetery at Ostella, with Mike Whitehead officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to the Marshall County Memorial Library.
