Avis Atlee Haislip

Avis Atlee Haislip, 67, of Lewisburg, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, in Marshall Medical Center.

Mr. Haislip was a native of Ardmore, Ala., and son of the late John Frank and Edna Earl Whitt Haislip. He was retired from the Marshall County Farmers Co-op.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, John Kevin Haislip; brother, Arliss Haislip; grandson, Richard Dumont Young; and mother, Nannie Lee Haislip.

He is survived by a daughter, Lori Haislip (James) Tallman of Cornersville; six sisters, Glaphery Haislip and Deborah Brown both of Petersburg, June Lynch of Chapel Hill, Gail Long of Shelbyville, Zeldra Buchanan of Fayetteville, and Sherry McCue of Petersburg; four brothers, Horace "Naybob" Haislip of Lewisburg, Tommy Haislip of Petersburg, and Frankie and Gary Haislip, both of Fayetteville. Four grandchildren, Trevor Ashton Haislip, Dorothy Mariah Bass, Andrew Preston Bradley, and Christopher Conley; one great-grandchild, Natilee Paige Conley; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Feb. 5, from the chapel of London Funeral Home, followed by burial in Lone Oak Cemetery.

London Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
