The Marshall County Wrestling Club (MCWC) is in its second season of existence and the sophomore year began with a bang as the Chapel Hill based organization built on their winning tradition, posting their most tournament wins ever last week.

"We are pleased with our wrestlers and their performance this year," said club founder Chris Posey. "As a young club having wrestlers winning and challenging for championships on a weekly basis is wonderful. We can only expect that as these wrestlers progress that we will see even more success."

The club recorded 23 team wins, 17 by way of pins, marking the best-ever performance by the young grapplers.

The MCWC also came home with 12 medals in the event.

"It's not just about winning at the MCWC, we try to instill character, integrity, toughness, patience, perseverance, honesty and an attitude of service into our wrestlers," said Posey. "Their success on the mat is a result of a combination of all of these factors."

As the Marshall County Wrestling Club prepares for the end of season, they expect continued success in the region and state tournaments in March. For more information about the club visit
