Major Frank Cantwell, 84, of Chapel Hill, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013.

A native of Philadelphia, Pa., Mr. Cantwell was a son of the late Edward William Cantwell III and Hazel Hocum Cantwell. A veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army, he was a retired bus driver.

Major Cantwell is survived by two daughters, Pam Conklin of Chapel Hill and Nancy Cantwell of San Jose, Calif.; two sons, Frank Cantwell Jr. of Redding, Calif. and Robert Cantwell of Oklahoma; three sisters, Edie Dimonte of Philadelphia, Pa., Hazel Carney of Latrobe, Pa., and Doris Coats of Charlotte, N.C.; a brother, Robert Cantwell of Edgewater, Fla.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at Lawrence Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
