Joyce "Jody" Bone, 81, of Lewisburg, died Tuesday, March 19, 2013, in Maury Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Bone was a native of Marshall County, and daughter of the late Lewis and Mamie Jones Defoe. She was a homemaker and well-known baseball card and sports collector. She was a charter member of Parkview Baptist Church, where she served as WMU Director, and was a children's Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher for several years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Benjaman Bone, in 1990; two brothers, Loyd Defoe and Bill Defoe; and three sisters, Margaret Cashion, Cora Winnett, and Zelma Thompson.

She is survived by one son, Jamie Bone of Lewisburg; daughter-in-law, Tammy, whom she loved like a daughter; and the greatest joy in her life, two granddaughters, Faith and Hope Bone.

Graveside services were conducted Thursday, March 21, at Short Cemetery in the Spring Place Community.

There was no visitation at the funeral home prior to the graveside service.

London Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
