Rockets complete sweep over Eagleville
After an exciting 4-1 win over Eagleville at Vanderbilt on Monday, the Forrest Rockets completed the sweep over their District 9-A opponents with a big 11-1 five-inning run-rule win in Chapel Hill Tuesday night.
The Rockets had only five hits in the contest and were the recipients of nine bases on balls issued by the Eagleville pitching staff, plus five errors in the field by the Rutherford County squad.
At the plate
Jacob Daughrity led the way for the Forrest offense, going 2-3 with a base on balls, two runs scored and two RBIs.
Austin Harber had an RBI double in three at bats and scored once, Boone Sweeney had an RBI base knock, Austin Harmon continued his stellar play with two runs scored, two bases on balls and an RBI, while Landon Jones had a base hit and scored once.
Logan Hollingsworth, Austin Welty, Cain Harrison, Zach Horvath, and Tanner Garvin all scored for the Rockets.
Horvath picked up the win on the mound for Forrest, tossing all five innings with the only Eagleville run of the unearned variety.
Horvath gave up five hits in the contest, while striking out five and walking three Eagles' batters.
