Ora Mae Young Holder
Ora Mae Young Holder, 91, of Lewisburg, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at NHC-Oakwood in Lewisburg.
A native of Maury County, she was the daughter of the late James Scott and Betty Mae Pilkinton Young.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alonzo "Red" Holder, in 1980; two sisters, Gladys Young and Louise Young Waldon; one brother, Walter Frank "Son" Young; and two grandsons, Lance Blalock and Dale Osborne.
Two daughters and their husbands, Joyce and Thomas Blalock and Sandy and Dale Sanders of Mooresville; two brothers, Otis Young of Culleoka and Owen Young of Franklin; and one sister, Christine Haskin of Scribners Mill, survive her. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Holder was a lifelong homemaker and enjoyed sewing and babysitting. She took great pride in her collection of salt and pepper shakers, quilts, and her beloved dolls. She was a member of Mooresville and Westvue Church of Christ.
Funeral services for Mrs. Holder were held Tuesday, July 16, from the chapel of Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home with Brother Mac Wheeler and Reverend Frank Smith officiating. Mrs. Holder was buried beside her late husband at Bryant Cemetery in Mooresville.
Her 11 great-grandsons served as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers: Chris Blalock, Tyler Blalock, Benton Thompson, Daniel Blalock, Jason Curry, Brad Lindquist, Hunter Ring, Frenchie Jenkins, Ray Cozart, Noah Brady, and Cole Blalock.
