Tigers edge Spring Hill, blast Eagles

The Marshall County Tigers found home cooking to be a delight Tuesday at Saddle Creek Golf Club, edging Spring Hill 173-177 at their home course in Lewisburg.

In a balanced attack, Brooks Leftwich led the charge with a 42 on the front nine holes with Austin Blade carding a 43, while Zach Smith and Kasey Beard both signed for identical 44s.

The second place Raiders were led by Noah Gibson and Chris Cooper, who both carded seven-over par 43s.

Brandon Sanchez ended up with a 45 and Libby Cooper, playing with the boys, signed for a 45.

Eagleville was way behind their two competitors, tallying a team total 199, but Dakota Beach took home the low medalist honors with a smooth two-over par 38.

Next in line for the Eagles was Matthew Boyette, who came to the clubhouse in 52 strokes, while Torrey Fusco had a 53 and John Pew shot 56.

Austin Blade hits out of some trouble on the sixth hole during the match with Eagleville and Spring Hill.

The Tigers will be back in action on Tuesday when they take on Hickman County and Fayetteville City at Saddle Creek, beginning at 4 p.m.

Carson Hill tees off on the par-4 third hole Tuesday at Saddle Creek.
