Charlie Daniels' autographed guitar to benefit Team Brandon
From Staff Reports
When Charlie Daniels and his band take the stage Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Goats, Music and More Festival, some lucky fan will be close to winning a guitar autographed by the music legend himself to help benefit Team Brandon. For your chance to win, and to help the Team Brandon cause, just look for the Team Brandon booth at the Goats, Music and More Festival beginning Thursday evening, Sept. 26, and all day Friday, Sept. 27, and Sept. 28. The winning ticket will be drawn during the performance of the Charlie Daniels Band Saturday night.
Team Brandon was formed soon after 17-year-old Brandon Bradley was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia on June 2, 2013.
Since that day, the road to recovery has been tough and costly for the Marshall County High School senior and his family. Brandon has been in and out of Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt receiving chemotherapy and radiation. Fortunately, a perfect match was found with a bone-marrow donor, and Brandon received a bone-marrow transplant on Sept. 11.
The volunteers of Team Brandon are trying to raise money for all the medical treatment Brandon needs. Along with several fund raisers that have been held, Team Brandon is selling tickets for a chance to win a Fender acoustic guitar autographed by Charlie Daniels.
All the money raised will help Brandon and his family offset the costs of his treatments.
Over 3,400 people are following Brandon's progress on Facebook. If you haven't already "liked" his page, go to www.facebook.com/teambrandon96. He loves getting cards and you can send them to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, 2200 Children's Way, Room 6301: attn Brandon Bradley, Nashville, TN 37232.
"Cannot get over the outpouring of love and support from his school and community. This is why small communities are better than large cities! Still wiping away tears. Thank you all!" Brandon's mother Shan Wells posted to Facebook on Sept. 6.
