Opal Pruitt Orr

Opal Pruitt Orr passed away Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at Life Care Center of Tullahoma.

A native of Marshall County, she was the daughter of Willie A. and Ruby Nichols Pruitt. Mrs. Orr was an active member of the Marshall County Art Guild for many years. She began taking art lessons at the Marshall County Senior Citizens Center in 1975. She won awards for her paintings at the Tennessee State Fair, Marshall County Art Guild annual membership shows, and numerous other events. Her works included oils, pen and ink, and pastels. She was a member of the Farmington Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Newton Orr, a daughter, Trudi Lynn Orr, and a brother, Joe Billy Pruitt.

She is survived by two sons, Doug Orr of Farmington and Joe and wife (Kathy Hill) Orr of Tullahoma; two grandchildren, Clint and wife (Kelly Ready) Orr, and Jenny Orr; two great-grandchildren, Adyson Elizabeth Orr and Charles Fletcher Orr, all of Tullahoma; and sister, Dorcas Pruitt Little of Franklin.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Sept. 21, from the chapel of London Funeral Home, followed by burial in Temple Cemetery in the Farmington Community.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Farmington Methodist Church.

London Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
