Sara Helen Ledbetter White
Sara Helen Ledbetter White, 90, died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
The Lewisburg native was the daughter of the late Mayfield Sharon Ledbetter and Ives Virginia Ledford Ledbetter. She was a 1941 graduate of Marshall County High School and attended Columbia Business School. On Oct. 14, 1944, she married Grover Cleveland White, who preceded her in death on Aug. 4, 2001. For many years she worked for the West 7th Street Church of Christ Mother's Day Out program. She loved cooking and entertaining friends and family. Mrs. White was a former longtime resident of Oak Drive and had been a resident of Life Care for the past several years. She was a member of West 7th Street Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Lou S. White, and sisters, Martha Clyde and Dorothy Barron.
Survivors include her daughters, Linda Watts of Spring Hill and Karen (Eugene) Tennyson of Estill Springs; seven grandchildren, Melinda Watts of Spring Hill, Brandon Watts of Kihei, Hawaii, Molly Watts of Spring Hill, and Weston Tennyson, Lara Tennyson, Savannah Tennyson, and Ben Tennyson, all of Estill Springs; great-grandson, Kailer Watts of Kihei, Hawaii; three nieces; and two nephews.
The family will visit with friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery in Lewisburg.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include elders and deacons of West 7th Street Church of Christ.
