MCHS student killed in accident Sunday
A Marshall County High School student was killed in a single-vehicle accident Sunday morning, Dec. 22, becoming Lewisburg's second traffic fatality of the year.
Brice T. Carr, 17, had reportedly just left church and was driving on Hull Avenue when he lost control of his white 1995 GMC truck, left the road, and hit a tree.
Lewisburg Police Department was notified of the crash around 11:28 a.m. according to a press release.
Neighbor Thomas Holton said, "It was awful, just awful -- terrible. It didn't look like a truck."
Carr was pronounced dead at the scene.
Holton did not know if speed was a factor in the accident, but he said speeding on Hull Avenue is a chronic problem.
"It's the bypass on the west side (of town)," he joked. "It seems like somebody has to get killed before they do anything about it," Holton continued, turning serious. "I don't want to see it happen again."
Holton has been living on Hull Avenue for two years, and once saw four accidents in one day as drivers hit a patch of ice near his house and lost control.
