Garland Alonzo Hargrove Sr.
Garland Alonzo Hargrove Sr., 70, of Lewisburg, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, at his residence.
Mr. Hargrove was a native of Marshall County, and son of the late Ellis and Ethel Madeline Rogers Hargrove. He served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard. He was retired from the Hargrove Brothers Logging Company.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Edward Hargrove; grandson, Nevin Alonzo Hargrove; and one great-granddaughter, Hannah Grace Jones.
He is survived by his wife, Jessie Purdom Hargrove of Lewisburg; his children, Ricky Garland Hargrove, Melisa Ann Hargrove Gray, Timothy Hargrove, Michael Keith Hargrove, Stephen Ray Hargrove, and Jason Brian Hargrove, all of Lewisburg, and Garland Alonzo Hargrove Jr. of Cornersville, and Lori Anna Hargrove (Ernie) Atchley of Taft; three brothers, James Ellis Hargrove and Thomas William Hargrove, both of Lewisburg, and Marion Lee Hargrove of Belfast; three sisters, Bessie Lauren (James) Walker of Murfreesboro, Geneva (John) Zambratto of Delina, and Jackie Darlene (Randy) Lowe of Lewisburg; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted by Larry Hastings on Friday, Jan. 3, from the chapel of London Funeral Home, followed by burial in the Whorley Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Alonzo Hargrove, Jimmy Stacey, Timmy Hargrove, Michael Hargrove, Stevie Hargrove, and Jason Hargrove.
London Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
