Myra Abernathy, 89, of Lewisburg, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Abernathy was a native of Giles County, and she was the daughter of the late John Hencely and Annie Mary Ezell Hughey. She was a former member of the Pulaski First United Methodist Church and was a current member of the Lewisburg First United Methodist Church. She was retired as the Registrar of Giles County which she served as for many years. She had been a resident at Village Manor for 13 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Dudley Abernathy, and brother, Dudley Hughey.
She is survived by three daughters, Marsha (Billy) Coble of Lewisburg, Linda (Richard) Middlecoff of Memphis, and Kathy (Phillip) Perry of Bowling Green, Ky.; son, Eddie (Jackie) Abernathy of Lewisburg; and sister, Mary Cornell of Lewisburg. Eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m.Wednesday, Jan. 8, from the chapel of London Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Maplewood Cemetery in Pulaski.
The family will be at the funeral home for visitation on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour.
