Lou Ellen Ledford Bills
Lou Ellen Ledford Bills was born on Jan. 27, 1932, and died on Jan. 8, 2014, at the age of 81.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony Lavoy Ledford and Eula Mae Collins Ledford; three brothers, A.L. Ledford Jr., Delwin Ledford, and Selwin Ledford; two sisters, Francis Bowden and Mary Ruth Stacey; and one grandchild, Samuel McKibben Bills.
Mrs. Bills is survived by her husband of 62 years, Donald Hunter Bills; three children, Stephen Hunter and Margaret Proffitt Bills of Tullahoma, Norman Kyle and Nadine Graves Bills of Franklin, and Lee Anne and Jerry Potts of Murfreesboro;10 grandchildren, Patrick Bills (Deborah) of Dallas, Texas, Nathan Bills (Jenni) of Tullahoma, Margaret Ellen McKinzie (Greg) of Arequipa, Peru, Collin Crutcher Bills of Memphis, Katherine Frances Bills of Tullahoma, Matthew Kyle Bills (Jane) of Franklin, Anthony Collin Bills (Kelci) of Franklin, Leah Nadine Murphree (Luke) of Atlanta, Ga., Lesley Kara Dye (Josh) of Murfreesboro, and Clint Daniel of Murfreesboro; 17 great-grandchildren, Joshua, Caleb, Daniel, Andrew, Sam, Ruby, Judah, John Moses, Anna, Maggie, Cohen, Eli, Shepherd, Bennett, Tristan, Gracie, and Myla; one sister, Anne Hardison of Franklin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mrs. Bills will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, at Kilgore Funeral Home in Tullahoma.
There will be one hour of visitation prior to the funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at the church of Christ at Cedar Lane. The service will be officiated by her grandson Pat Bills and grandchildren will be serving as pallbearers.
A private graveside service will take place at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to C.U.D.A. which funds children's libraries and children's literacy programs for the poor in Arequipa, Peru. Checks can be made payable to C.U.D.A. and given to one of Mrs. Bills' family members or to the church secretary at the church of Christ at Cedar Lane.
