Mary Frances Johnson
Mary Frances Johnson, 89, of Ardmore, Okla., formerly of Lewisburg, passed from this life on Jan. 2, 2014.
She was born on Jan. 18, 1924, in Foster, Okla. to the late James Garfield Stufflebeam and Eula Ollie Chestnut Stufflebeam. She was a retired supervisory contractor for the Federal Aviation Administration in Alaska. Mrs. Johnson was active in conservative politics, active in her church -- East Commerce Baptist, loved to read, cook for her family, and enjoyed painting in oils, for which she won several blue ribbons.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Howard Johnson Sr.; and two sisters, Betty Jo Chambers and Thelma Louise Smith.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Jean (Fred) Bush of Ardmore, Okla.; son, Robert Howard Johnson Jr. of Lewisburg; four granddaughters, Julianna (Allen) Durichek of Athens, Ala., Samantha (Billy) Williams of Madison, Ala., Bridgette (Joe) Walsh of Chapel Hill, and Jessica (Karsten) Bartling of Cary, N.C.; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services were held in Ardmore, Okla. on Friday, Jan. 10, at the Craddock Memorial Chapel. She was laid to rest beside her husband in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
