Thefts and vandalism reported

* A Lawrence County woman reported to Lewisburg Police Officer James Repasky that between May 1, 2013, and Jan. 9, 2014, rings, necklaces, collectable dolls, old coins, and a Carnival glass bowl were stolen from her late grandmother's home on 8th Avenue South. Total value of the missing items was estimated at $3,600.

* About 6 a.m. Jan. 19 a storage building worth $3,000 was found fully engulfed in flame at a property on Highway 64. The owner said there was no electricity to the building, and no flammable materials stored in it. She also said a family member had recently received threats. The Bomb and Arson squad is investigating, according to the report by Marshall County Sheriff's Detective Chad Bass.

* Between Jan. 15 and 16, an air compressor, a gas heater, and a red 1983 Ford truck (not drivable) were stolen from a property on John Barnes Road, Petersburg, that the victim is in the process of moving out of. Total value of the missing items was estimated at $2,585.

* Between the morning of Jan. 10 and the evening of Jan. 11, someone "keyed" a 2002 four-door Chevy truck all the way down the passenger side while it was parked at the owner's home on Mooresville Highway. Cost of repairing the damage was estimated at $1,200.

* Sometime during the day on Jan. 18, a speckled Kelso hen, a cream colored Kelso hen, and a red and black round-head rooster, worth a total of $900, were stolen, with their cage, from a property on Hunter Road.

* Between Jan. 13 and 19 someone stole two 16-foot countertops and a piece of lattice from in from of a building that is being renovated on Cornersville Road. The items were not outside because they were being thrown away, but because there was no room for them inside, the owner told Lewisburg Police Officer Mike Davis. Total value of the missing items was estimated at $535.

* Two large round bales of hay, worth $50 each, were stolen from a field on Mealer Road between 4 p.m. Jan. 16 and 10 a.m. Jan. 17.

*A 24-inch pink girl's bike, worth $100, was reported stolen from a home on Old Belfast Road.

* On Jan. 14, a Lewisburg woman reported to police her wallet was stolen out of her purse while she was at Walmart on Nov. 2, and she recently discovered $46.28 worth of purchases at local stores had been charged to her missing credit card on Nov. 29 and 30. In addition to the card, the wallet contained $5 cash, a Social Security card, and a Net Speed Internet card.

* A Chapel Hill man reported to Marshall County Sheriff's Department that someone entered his home and tried to pry open the safe in his closet, probably on Jan. 11. The safe was not opened, nothing appeared to be missing, and nothing else was disturbed. Detective Jimmy Oliver went to the house to look for fingerprints.

* Sean M. Adams, 19, Beard Lane. Bond: $3,500; court date: Feb. 10. Also charged with vandalism, aggravated criminal trespass, and resisting arrest. On Jan. 13, Adams was allegedly "messed up on drugs" when he broke a glass door and entered several apartments at a house on Haynes Street, according to the

report by Lewisburg Police Officer Clyde Ragsdale.
