Darlene Johns, 56, died Thursday evening, Feb. 20, 2014, after a short illness.
Most of her life, Darlene was a resident of the Holts Corner Community of Marshall County. She graduated from Forrest High School in Chapel Hill and was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Shelbyville.
Darlene was preceded in death by a son, Cody Ryan Curtis, and grandparents, Clarence and Pearl Haynes Ferguson and Winford and Pearl Johns.
Ms. Johns is survived by her parents, Powell Eugene (Donna) Johns of Dover, Tenn. and Mae Sue (William) Vernon of Chapel Hill; sister, Susan Jean Johns (David) DeVaughn of Corinth, Miss.; brother, Christopher Eugene (Michelle) Johns of Holts Corner; niece, Ashley Morgan Johns (Jacob) Jewell of Holts Corner; daughter, Erica Nicole Curtis of Chapel Hill; son, Joshua Daniel (Jennifer) Curtis of Chapel Hill; beautiful granddaughter, Savannah Lynn Curtis of Chapel Hill; special cousins, Joyce Jones and Marianne Blackwell; special friends, Lisa Savage, Becky McGilliard, and Debbie Bennett; and many other family and friends.
A Service of Celebration for Darlene's life was conducted Saturday, Feb. 22, from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Tedder, Rev. Larry Chatman, and Rev. John Eatherly officiating.
