David Willis Harmon
David Willis Harmon, 71, of Chapel Hill, died Sunday, March 16, 2014, in Franklin.
He was a native of Oxford, Miss. and a son of the late David Irby and Betty Pettit Harmon Jr. David served in the National Guard as a helicopter pilot and retired from the United States Army as a Lt. Colonel. He later retired as an industrial engineer and was a member of the Chapel Hill Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Clynese Harmon of Chapel Hill; daughters, Georgia Gay (Stan) Butt of Chapel Hill and Joy (Len) Rinehart of Ashland City; son, Monty (Star) Harmon of Miami, Fla.; sisters, Jane Harmon Crouch of Arkansas, and Ruth Harmon Redd and Rose Harmon Regis, both of Mississippi; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Dale Jenkins officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 20, at Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville, Miss.
The family has requested Memorial Donations to the Chapel Hill Church of Christ Mission Fund or Maywood Christian Camp in Hamilton, Ala.
