DeShaun Wesley Greer, 24, died Sunday, March 23, 2014, in Johnson City, Tenn.
DeShaun was born Oct. 28, 1989, in Columbia, to Stanley L. Greer and Amy E. Fritz Crook.
In 2008, DeShaun graduated from Marshall County High School. DeShaun was a senior at King University in Bristol, Tenn., where he was set to graduate this year. DeShaun played football from the time he was seven years old, through high school, and basketball from seventh grade through college. He loved the thrill of the game and spending time with teammates. His teammates loved his drive and determination. His friends and classmates knew they could count on him, trust, respect, and honor him.
DeShaun was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Sara Mai Greer; uncle, Wesley Greer; and nephew, Maison Greer.
DeShaun is survivied by his loving parents, Stanley and Kimberly Greer, and Amy Fritz Crook and Dennis Crook; paternal grandparents, Joe Greer, and Clifford and Gail Whitaker; maternal grandparents, Kathy Lindsay, and Ron and Martha Fritz; younger brother, Jamison Greer; younger sisters, Camille Greer, Katelyn Greer, and Kimberlyn Greer; a nephew, DeMarkus Greer; a host of devoted aunts, uncles, and cousins; and a beloved girlfriend, Heavenly Groeneveld.
Visitation with the family will be from noon to 6 p.m. Friday, March 28, at the Keny Building at MCHS.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 29, also at the Keny Building on Jason Maxwell Boulevard, Lewisburg.
Burial will follow at Beechwood Cemetery in Cornersville.
