Gregory Madison Joyce
Gregory Madison Joyce, 57, of Columbia, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Vanderbilt Medical Center after an extended illness.
Gregory was born Oct. 21, 1956, in Columbia, to the late Melvin Joyce and Barbara Jean Gordon Joyce. After graduation, Gregory was employed by Columbia Power and Water System where he worked for 30 years as a foreman. Upon his departure from the company, he retired to his farm where he enjoyed many years cultivating his land, living his dream, and sharing his world with his beloved wife, Vickie Bellafant Joyce, and extended family.
Gregory was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Barbara Joyce.
To mourn his passing and celebrate his life he leaves behind a wife, Vickie Bellafant Joyce; a stepson, Jeremy Bellafant; two sisters, Bonita (William) Duke of St. Louis, Mo. and Melodia (Curtis) Johnson of Lewisburg; a brother, Jermaine Pillow; a loving aunt, Mary Gordon of Hillsborough, N.C.; and a trusted and devoted friend, Kelvin Mayberry; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation with the family will be from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, April 18, at Mt. Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church with services to follow at 1 p.m. Interment will be at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Columbia.
