Shooting on West Church St. sends three to hospital

Lewisburg police are still looking for information on a shooting incident which happened just after 2 a.m. Sunday morning.
According to the incident report, Officer Shaun Crawford responded to a call for shots fired at The Powder Room at 570 West Church Street.
"Upon my arrival I made contact with two black males that had been hit by the gun fire," wrote Crawford.
A 25-year-old had been hit in the back of the neck, and a 19-year-old was hit in the finger. An ambulance was called for the victims, who both said they did not see who was doing the shooting.
Dispatch notified Sgt. Chris Sawyers that a 20-year-old victim was already at Marshall Medical Center, with a gunshot wound to the foot.
Some of the witnesses told the officers a shot had been fired inside the building, but Sawyers and Crawford could find no sign of this.
Members of the Criminal Investigation Division arrived and began to do field interviews with the people left at the scene.
Tuesday morning, Detective Sgt. David Henley filled in more of the details. He said The Powder Room had been rented for a private party, which is why there were a number of people there at that hour of the morning.
The man who was hit in the back of the neck was taken by helicopter ambulance to Vanderbilt, but was released the next day, Henley said.
The detective said his department was pursuing a number of leads, but urged anyone who has more information about the incident to call detectives at (931) 359-3800 or CrimeStoppers at (931) 359-4867. Remember CrimeStoppers is anonymous, and a reward may be paid if information leads to an arrest.
