Rosa Mae Laws
Rosa Mae Laws, 83, of Chapel Hill, died Monday, May 12, 2014, in Murfreesboro.
Mrs. Laws was a lifelong resident of Chapel Hill and was a daughter of the late Jones Adgent and Agnes Chumbley Griffin. She was a retired employee of the State of Tennessee, Department of Parks and Recreation, having retired from Henry Horton State Park State Park in Chapel Hill. She was a mother to many, many children. Mrs. Laws was a member of the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Laws, who died in 1989, and by sisters, Willie Skinner and Lula Mae Griffin, and a brother, Charles Griffin.
Mrs. Laws is survived by Ted L. (Janice) Rozell Jr. of Murfreesboro, Molly (Wendell) Phifer of Chapel Hill, and John (Carol) Rozell of Murfreesboro, whom she loved as her children; Caitlin Rozell, Kelly Rozell, Ben (Jennifer) Shain, and Bart (Kimberly) Shain, whom she loved as grandchildren; sister, Brownie Leverette of Chapel Hill; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted. Thursday, May 15, from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Hendricks officiating. Burial followed in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Rosa Mae Laws may be made to Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 243, Chapel Hill, TN 37034.
