Talric "Tal" Martin, 49, of Laws Hill, died Monday, June 30, 2014.
Tal was a native of Nashville and was a gifted guitarist and musician. He was a son of the late Thomas Grady Martin Sr. and Norma Gann Martin.
Tal is loved and will be missed by countless students and fellow musicians. He had an inimitable talent for "shredding" his guitar in the clubs around Nashville. He worked primarily out of his home studio. He was also a great chef, one of the few trusted with the catfish recipe at the original Uncle Bud's. He will be remembered for his years of service spent organizing and delivering food for the homeless in Nashville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Steven Cole Martin and Joseph Claude Martin.
Survivors include three sisters, Angie Martin-Burt of Chattanooga, Alisa Lynn Martin of Dallas, Texas, and Julie Martin Ezell and husband Harley of Chapel Hill; four brothers, Thomas Grady Martin Jr. of Laws Hill, and Joshua Ryburn Martin, Jason Rhett Martin, and Justin Rory Martin, all of Nashville; and six nieces and nephews.
Visitation on Saturday afternoon, July 5, at Lawrence Funeral Home was followed by a Celebration of Life Service.
Lawrence Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Chapel Hill, in charge of arrangements.
