Bowden recognized for service to MCBPU

After 19 years of service, Roy A. "Rocky" Bowden is leaving his position as chairman of the Marshall County Board of Public Utilities, effective Aug. 31.

His fellow board members passed a resolution to honor Bowden at their meeting this week.

"Whereas he has served with a vision of growth and a voice of wisdom, dedicating his services tirelessly for the purpose of good for every citizen," states the resolution. "Now therefore let it be resolved by the directors of the MCBPU that Roy A. Bowden, affectionately known as "Rocky," be honored as a kind, caring gentleman who is a loving father, grandfather and friend, active in civic and community affairs while setting an example worthy of honor and recognition by this Board, his family and friends.

"Let it be further resolved that Mr. Rocky Bowden will not be forgotten for his years of service to the MCBPU and that he will be publicly recognized and honored by the spreading of these words ..."
