The Lewisburg Police Department is currently investigating the following crimes and is asking for the public's assistance:

* On Aug. 11, a vehicle parked at 1175 Franklin Road, Lot 46, was burglarized. A Pioneer DVD/CD Player Model #AVHX-4600 was taken, as well as speakers, and a DeWalt drill.

* Between Aug. 10 and 12, someone stole a 12- to 14-foot trailer with a black mesh floor and gate and a green and yellow John Deere Model LT155 Riding Mower. The trailer and mower were stolen from 344 East Church Street.

* On Aug. 14, someone burglarized a work truck at 955 East Commerce Street. Stolen were a Stihl pole saw, two Husqvarna chain saws, and one Echo chain saw.

Also still under investigation are the burglaries of St. John's Catholic Church and the New Life Family Tabernacle.

Persons with information relating to these crimes, or any other criminal activity, are asked to contact the Lewisburg Police Department at (931) 359-4044, or Crime Stoppers at (931) 359-4867. Information can be emailed to tips@lewisburgtn.gov.

Lyttle P. Hurt, 20, and Sean A. Johnson, 21, both of Lewisburg, were arrested on Aug. 25, and charged with aggravated burglary and theft of property over $500. Bond has been set at $13,500 each, and they will make their first court appearance on Sept. 9. Unfortunately, neither of them is connected to the recent thefts mentioned above, according to Detective Sgt. David Henley. Hurt and Johnson were caught when they tried to pawn a game station in Nashville that they stole in Lewisburg earlier this summer, Henley said.

The Lewisburg Police Department now has a Facebook page. It is being used to relay important information on alerts, investigations, and useful tips. Also, it has crime-related photos, such as pictures of the missing mower, trailer and saws mentioned above.
