William Morgan Whitesell
William Morgan Whitesell, 91, of Lewisburg, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, in Marshall Medical Center.
Mr. Whitesell was a native of Marshall County, and son of the late George David and Kate Isley Whitesell. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a co-owner of the I-65 31A Truckstop from 1967 until 1974, and retired from the Tennessee Department of Transportation. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Aline Stinnett Whitesell, in 2009 and his sister, Isabell Jett.
He is survived by his daughter, Pat Winnett, son, Delwyn Whitesell, and sister, Arlene Blackwell, all of Lewisburg; three grandchildren, Dee Winnett, Troy Whitesell, and Lori Whitesell; three great-grandchildren, Bailey Winnett, Lane Whitesell, and Nyree Whitesell; and one stepgreat-grandchild, Heather Coyle.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, Oct. 2, from the chapel of London Funeral Home, followed by burial in Lone Oak Cemetery with military honors.
London Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
