Maudie Ruth Orr, 75, of Lewisburg, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014, at her residence.

Mrs. Orr was a native of Lincoln County, the daughter of the late Herman Wayne and Mayme Loyd Wakefield. She was a longtime World Bible School teacher and homemaker and was a member of Church Street Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lee Orr, in 1998, and three brothers, Philip Davis, John Paul Davis, and Walt Davis.

She is survived by five daughters, Mary Beth (Stephen) Smith of Triune, Melinda (Greg) Stovall of Killen, Ala., Donna (Joel) Hargrove of Lewisburg, Amy (Martin) Von Almen of Eagleville, and Janna (Andy) Connelly of Nashville; one son, Howard Wayne (Charlotte) Orr of Florence, Ala.; two sisters, Rosemary (Don) Hudson of Petersburg and Theda Wilkins of Jasper, Tenn.; and one brother, William Lloyd (Sheri) Davis of Boonshill. Eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, five sisters-in-law, Martha Short, Joy Orr, Shelia Orr, June Orr, and Sheri Davis, and two brothers-in-law, Eugene Clark and Don Hudson, also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, at the Church Street Church of Christ, with burial to follow in the Temple Cemetery.

Visitation with the family began Thursday evening and will continue on Friday from noon until 12:45 p.m. at London Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are grandsons and sons-in-law, and honorary pallbearers are members of the Church Street Mission Committee.
