William "Bill" Lawrence, 80, of Cornersville, died Friday, Nov. 14, 2014, in St. Thomas Medical Center.
Mr. Lawrence was a native of Giles County, and son of the late Leroy and Mamie Fitzgerald Lawrence. He was a graduate of Cornersville High School in the class of 1952 and served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from International Comfort Products after 47 years as a cost accountant. Bill was very active in the Cornersville Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon and church treasurer for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Stanley Lawrence, and niece, Cindi Chupka.
He is survived by his wife, Annie Ruth Edde Lawrence of Cornersville; daughter, Sandra Cook of Lewisburg; grandson, Andy Cook of Cornersville; sister, Elizabeth Chupka of Los Angles, Calif.; and three nieces.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, Nov. 17, from the chapel of Cornersville Funeral Home, followed by burial in Middleview Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers serving were Alfred Stacey Sr., Dwight Gillepie, Troy Crowell, Hewitt Scoggins, Jimmy Trout, and Doug Lowery.
Honorary bearers were Larry Haynes, Don Derryberry, Cornersville Baptist Church Men's Sunday School Class, and the McDonald's Coffee Club.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the building fund of Cornersville Baptist Church, 2966 Pulaski Hwy, Cornersville, TN 37047.
