Eva Lois Richardson Edwards, 89, wife of Bro. Frank Edwards of Belfast, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014, in NHC Oakwood Healthcare.

Mrs. Edwards was a native of Martinsville, Va., and daughter of the late Rev. Roy T. and Jessie Thomason Richardson. She was a graduate of Martinsville High School and Campbell College. She studied Sacred Music and Religious Education at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where she met her husband of 60 years. While in college she conducted Vacation Bible School in several churches in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Her husband was a Baptist pastor and she served with him in many churches as Music Director, VBS Director, Sunday School Teacher, WMU Director and several other positions in Louisiana, Wyoming and Middle Tennessee. Their last pastorate was the Hannah's Gap Baptist Church where they served for over 41 years. She was retired from Cosmolab and was a member of East Commerce Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Edwards; sister, Ida Deaton; and brother, Thomas Richardson Jr.

She is survived by her husband, Rev. Frank Edwards of Belfast; three sons, Tim (Debbie) Edwards of Airway Heights, Wash., Ronnie (Jeanne) Edwards of Shelbyville, and Donnie Edwards of Belfast; two sisters, Jessie Leigh Murphy of Martinsville, Va. and Bonnie Haley of Stoneville, N.C.; sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Richardson of Martinsville, Va.; brother-in-law, Don (Billie Jean) Edwards of Shelbyville; six grandsons, Joseph, Jamison, Jesse, Tucker, Mark and Jonathan Edwards; and two granddaughters, Caley and Mary Margaret Edwards.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, from the East Commerce Baptist Church, with burial to follow in Head Springs Cemetery.

The family will be at East Commerce Baptist Church Friday from 4 until 8 p.m. and Saturday from noon until the funeral hour for visitation.
