H&S No. 2 robbed at drive-thru Monday
From Staff Reports
A local pharmacy was robbed Monday afternoon, reported Lewisburg Police Detective Sgt. David Henley.
About 1 p.m. a car pulled up to the drive-thru window at H&S Pharmacy No. 2 on North Ellington Parkway. The driver, later identified as Jason Shelton, 33, of West Commerce Street, showed a note demanding drugs to a pharmacy employee. The note demanded narcotics and made a threat against the pharmacy and its employees if they failed to comply. Shelton had taken steps to hide his identity. He did not display a weapon.
After obtaining the drugs Shelton fled. He drove to the Babe Ruth ballpark, across from Walmart on North Ellington Parkway, and there he left his car and fled on foot. Police canine units responded and tracked Shelton along the railroad track, locating several key pieces of evidence while conducting their search. They caught Shelton near his home on West Commerce Street.
He was transported to the Lewisburg Police Department where he was interviewed by detectives. Shelton admitted to being involved in the robbery, and he was arrested and charged with robbery, reckless endangerment and evading arrest. According to the Marshall County Jail's booking sheet, Shelton's bond was set at $18,000.
