Richard Hoover, 53, of Chapel Hill, died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, in Chapel Hill.
Mr. Hoover was born in Phoenix, Ariz. and was an employee of Walmart of Lewisburg. Richard was also a culinary chef. He was a member of the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church and the Chapel Hill Lions Club. He served for many years as the secretary of the Chapel Hill Men's Club.
Mr. Hoover is survived by his mother, Lynne Bates Lawrence of Chapel Hill; sister-in-law, Lisa Hoover of Mississippi; brother, Vic Mann Jr. of Olive Branch, Miss.; aunt, Sheila Harris of Memphis; nieces, Jennifer Sheppard, Alexis Mann and Rowan Hart; nephews, Ricky Dean Hoover, Dylan Craft, Dakota Hoover, Hayden Mann and Landon Mann; and honorary brother, Andy Karpinski of Chapel Hill.
A Celebration of Life Service for Richard was conducted Sunday, March 1, at Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Hendricks officiating.
Committal services were conducted Tuesday, March 3, at the mausoleum chapel of Memorial Park Memorial Gardens in Memphis. Entombment followed in the Memorial Park mausoleum.
Tommy Lawrence, Andy Karpinski, James Garvin, Harold Blalock and Chris Gilbert served as honorary pallbearers.
