Patricia Ann Gentry-Braden
On Sunday, March 1, 2015, Patricia Ann Gentry-Braden passed away.
She was born in Lewisburg in 1947 and was the daughter of Howard and Dovie Mae (Scales) Gentry. She was a member of Greater First Baptist Church and Wildwood Baptist Church in Washington D.C. She graduated an honor student of Jones Training School, Lewisburg, and Tennessee State University, Nashville. Patricia also earned an honors scholarship to Yale University, New Haven, Conn., where she received an English degree. She was employed with Salama Urban Ministry, Nashville, for many years, where she served as an administrator, grant writer and fundraiser.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Betty Flowers, Evelyn Cleveland and Barbara Turner; brother, William Howard Gentry; and nieces, Jackie Martin and Tammye Turner.
Surviving to cherish her memories are a loving and devoted son, Christopher (Tyra ) Braden; grandsons, Christian and Brennen Braden; sisters, Elizabeth Maxwell of Kingsport and Sarah Crutcher of Nashville; one brother, Joe Louis (Lillian) Gentry of Lewisburg; sister-in-law, Annette Gentry of Murfreesboro; nephews, Gary (Charlotte) Maxwell, Michael (Mary) Gentry, Robert (Minerva) Gentry, Terry (Amy) Gentry and Marichal Gentry.
She is also survived by a host of loving relatives and special friends Peggy Edwards and Eddie Robertson and family.
