The Forrest Lady Rockets put an undefeated record on the line at the Raptor Classic in Brentwood last weekend, facing a gauntlet of five 3A teams that have a combined 68-28-1 record.

Forrest 4, Franklin 1

On Friday night at Crockett Park, Forrest opened up against Franklin and came away with a 4-1 win thanks to a nine-hit effort at the plate and a strong performance in the circle by Katie Warrick.

Savannah Brothers and Lainey Mays combined for four hits in the game with Mays scoring twice and driving home two runs, while Brothers added an RBI.

In the nightcap, the Lady Rockets faced perennial powerhouse Riverdale, a squad that Forrest has not beaten since the 2008 championship season.

Three small ball runs in the first inning shocked the Lady Warriors, who would not recover from the early Lady Rockets' onslaught.

The first three hitters in the Forest lineup went a combined 6-9 in the contest with Briar Mays, Kiyoko Puca and Warrick all going 2-3.

Warrick picked up her second win of the tournament, giving up a lone run in the last inning of the 3-1 triumph.

The senior hurler allowed just four Riverdale hits, while striking out three and walking three.

Forrest 3, Wilson Central 1

On Saturday morning, Forrest took on Wilson Central and gave up an unearned run in the third inning to trail the Lady Wildcats until the top of the fifth when some Lady Rockets' magic appeared.

Jordan Yelensky (24) had two hits in Forrest's 3-1 win over Wilson Central.

Jordan Yelensky led off the frame with a double and one out later, pinch hitter Carson Warner drilled a shot down the left field line, trading places with Yelensky at second, tying the game at 1-1.

The game would go to a tiebreaker in the sixth inning where Samantha King delivered the go-ahead base hit and Forrest tacked on one more run on a delayed steal by Lainey Mays.

Warrick closed the door on Wilson Central in the bottom of the inning, giving Forrest a bye in the first round of bracket play.

Shelbyville 4, Forrest 3

The Lady Rockets would take on Shelbyville in the contest.

Forrest jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first inning, but the Eagelettes would come back to tie the game in the second inning.

Piper Elmore (00) scoops up a ground ball and throws to first base versus Ravenwood.

Forrest went back up on an RBI single by Puca in the home half of the frame, but once again the Eagelettes tied it again at 2-2.

Baylee Cook and Alexis Larion would both knock in a run in the fourth inning for Shelbyville, making it a 4-2 ballgame.

Forrest tried to come back in the final inning, scoring on an RBI base knock by King, but Shelbyville sophomore Kendall Durard closed the door in the circle for the Eagelettes.

Durard kept the Lady Rockets off balance the entire game with her change of speeds and accuracy, handing Forrest its first loss of the season.

Durard gave up eight hits, while striking out five and walking three batters in the game.

Ravenwood 5, Forrest 2

Forrest faced host Ravenwood in the loser's bracket semifinal and the Lady Rockets came up with a pair of runs in the top of the first inning before fizzling out in a 4-2 loss that ended their weekend.

Lainey Mays (77) gutted out an illness over the weekend for the Lady Rockets, who went 3-2 at the Raptor Classic.
